Meet PETMAN

PETMAN is an adult-sized humanoid robot developed by Boston Dynamics, who is best known for the BigDog.

I can’t wait to see the day PETMAN rides BigDog :D

The full article on it’s development can be found over at IEEE Spectrum.

  2. Very impressive robot given its size and weight requirements (nearly 6 feet, 180 pounds) …
I have seen BigDog run as an autonomous unit, but PETMAN seems to require a tether to provide its power .

This leads me to question the longevity of the power supply before requiring a recharge or analogous refueling .
