From the mail bag!

I just wanted to drop you guys a line and say thanks for everything you do. I ordered a motor shield pack, and when it was just a kit I thought “man, there’s no way in hell I’m gonna figure this out,” But sure enough, I bought the right tools and followed your instructions, and I’m holding a *working* motor shield in my hand. This is awesome, and you guys are awesome for giving clumsy nerds like me a way to do stuff like this. Thanks – Jeffrey.

  1. I had the same experience with the Arduino Protoshield and Data Logging Shield. I knew they were kits before ordering them and that I’d need to learn to solder, so I bought a cheap iron and a practice kit. I finished the practice kit and both shields in the same day. The shields work great! The practice kit, not so much. I reversed polarity on a couple things and placed a chip backward, but I learned what basic mistakes I had made very quickly and felt confident moving on to the shields.

    Soldering is easy and fun!
