Here’s our official post about this
A month or so ago Chris Anderson (editor in chief of Wired, founder of DIY drones) let us know there was a DIY story in WIRED coming up, very exciting – we are thrilled how well the section and issue turned out. And of course, it’s wonderful to see our very own Ladyada on the cover.
We’d like to thank everyone at WIRED who did such an amazing job with photography, the story, the editing, the filming (WIRED iPad app will be out soon with video!), wardrobe, props, styling and management. It was an amazing process to be part of, everyone was the best of the best. Here are just some of the folks who made this experience the best possible. If we forgot something we’ll add it, it’s been very crazy over the last day!

We’d like to thank our employees at Adafruit for being so flexible and patient. There were many days of photography, filming and running the shop. Adafruit is what it is because we have such a talented and dedicated team, thank you.
And last, but certainly not least – We would also like to thank the maker community, the fans, the hackers, the customers, the people who visit our site to learn or just for fun. You fuel us, you’re part of us – we are looking forward to celebrating engineering with all of you.
What’s next? Pick up a copy of WIRED, share it with a son, a daughter, a sister, a friend – you never know what can spark someone to become a maker. It’s really up to all of us to choose what we celebrate.
Thank you everyone – Limor Fried, Phillip Torrone and the Adafruit team

Congats to you.
A great roll model for all young smart women, and Limor as Rosie the Riveter, a swell take on a Classic icon indeed!

=D Amazing! I need a hard copy!
Comment by DiegoSpinola — March 16, 2011 @ 4:20 pm
What I particularly love about this was that Wired was cool enough to put an actual engineer/maker on the cover, rather than just using a model…

I would pay $25 bucks for a signed poster of the cover. Maybe a whole series of different engineers?

Comment by Alfredo — March 22, 2011 @ 1:25 pm
Where do I get a poster of that?
Comment by vxbinaca — March 22, 2011 @ 1:43 pm
Yes, an autographed poster is highly desirable. I have a 2 1/2-year-old granddaughter that I’ve been teaching to build robots and posters like this would be so helpful in showing her that young women can be a geek, be super smart, and look wildly marvelous all at the same time.
Ladyada for President!

Congratulations! Pay no attention to the nay-sayers … that’s a great cover; with a well-deserved article, to boot.
