  1. I watched Contact for the first time a few weeks ago. One of the best movies I’ve seen and the only mainstream movie that I know of that contains a decent amount of *real* science.

  2. @eil you should watch the movie "2001" some time, even more real science (the only movie I remember where space ships don’t make a noise in vacuum). By the way you may want to read the book first to understand it.

  3. Some movies do at least tell you they’re aware of the silence, at the start of the recent Star Trek the woman gets sucked into space and it is silent.

    Serenity/Firefly isn’t bad for that either IIRC.
