ThingSpeak is an open web of things platform to allow devices to interact with web services, apps, and things. ThingSpeak is open to any type of data from devices and applications. ThingSpeak is a cloud service…things-as-a-service (TaaS)? ThingSpeak is open now.

At first we didn’t quite get exactly what this does, but here’s an example – Using an Arduino + Ethernet Shield to Update a ThingSpeak Channel… So, quickly get physical things reporting sensor data to places like Twitter, etc…

Yes, sounds exactly like Pachube. But have looked at the Thingspeak API it looks like a much inferior Pachube!

It’s about connecting things – for example there is an app to relay updates to Twitter and any other service from a microcontroller. Our focus is not the data logging of sensors, but to allow one device to send a string to another device using HTTP and a simple API. The logging component is there because there is a service in the middle. I have a Netduino Plus talking to an Arduino Ethernet device and will share the source code for that soon.
Do you have any ideas for something like this?

@Dan Reifsnyder: I agree. Difference is, this is done by ioBridge.
Their stuff is nice, but very much not open source.
