Hacked Kinect used as a multi-touch interface

Hacked Kinect used as a multi-touch interface, Flomuc writes -

Here’s my proof-of-concept HD video of using a hacked Kinect camera for multitouch-like interaction. Written using libfreenect by marcan42 and libTISCH (http://tisch.sf.net/) by myself. I thought I’d get the mandatory picture-browsing stuff done so it’s out of the way and everybody can focus on more interesting things :-)

  1. That is awesome! Will hardware manufacturers ever learn? Probably not…

    Keep up the good work.

  2. The picture-browsing stuff, classic. This is the Hello World of Multitouch. Looks great.

  3. Glad to see that this device is getting some good uses all ready. I want to pick one up for my robot.

  4. Reminds me of the scene in Minority Report. I always liked that scene.

  5. Well, OK… just as long as it doesn’t come with a somewhat faulty “precrime” implementation… ;-)
