Instrument for Unsent Letters

Artist Rebecca Adorno has created this wonderful art installation, based on anonymous letters written on her project blog. She writes:

The installation consists of five custom made string instruments and a type writer, which will act as an interface for the interaction. The typewriter will be wired in such way that each key will correspond to a servo motor and each servo motor will correspond to a string in the instruments.

Her blog is still open to submissions, and you can see additional photos of the piece here.

Great work, Rebecca!

  1. This is somewhat like the selectric typewriter-piano contraption used by the band invisible here in greensboro, nc.
