Designer Brian Garret – 3D Printed Headphones

Industrial Designer Brian Garret explored opportunities of mass-customization in his graduation thesis “User Customization through Rapid Manufacturing” in collaboration with Freedom Of Creation and Eindhoven University of Technology in 2009.

The outcome is a series of customizable headphone designs. These headphones are a manufactured through state of the art rapid manufacturing technologies, this allows each headphone to be personalized with the customers music taste.

This music taste forms a decorative textual pattern around the headband of the headphone showing everyone your favorite bands, song texts or lyrics.
