And of course any interesting project can be replicated with an Arduino and some hacking – a friend of mine has built his own version of this http://www.adafruit.com/blog/2010/04/30/device-shows-bus-location-1938/
Most of the time it shows where he and his wife are, but for the last UK Maker Faire he updated it to show where the Mersey ferries were
