Got a new Droid A855 recently and this is great news. The thing chews battery life like a Labrador in a shoe factory. Then again maybe I’m playing with it too much.
1. Sometimes when I insert the Droid’s micro-USB the Droid doesn’t recognize the MintyBoost as a “valid” charger. Re-inserting seems to help. It may be that the Droid is drawing a LOT of current and the in-rush is dragging MintyBoost down.
2. I also tested on an old Blackberry 8830.
Output voltage (No load) = 5.02 VDC
Output voltage (Droid) = 4.31 VDC
Output voltage (RIM 8830) = 4.62 VDC
3. I found that the LT1302 is getting a bit warm; it’s so warm that I can’t comfortably hold my finger on the case for longer than 2 seconds.
4. The AA batteries are also getting a bit warm.
Question: What is the max current the MintyBoost v2 is designed to comfortably source?

Did some testing. Here’s what I find:
