Thanks for coming out and special thanks to guest, Amanda “w0z” – she’s an engineer (bio and analog electronics & engineering). We talked about the clock enclosure she is designing with Adafruit (photos here) and we answered your engineering questions. Mosfet the cat showed up. And lastly, Adafruit is taking a post-holiday rest from 1/4 to 1/8 – orders will take a little longer than usual to ship out that week.

Adafruit publishes a wide range of writing and video content, including interviews and reporting on the maker market and the wider technology world. Our standards page is intended as a guide to best practices that Adafruit uses, as well as an outline of the ethical standards Adafruit aspires to. While Adafruit is not an independent journalistic institution, Adafruit strives to be a fair, informative, and positive voice within the community – check it out here: adafruit.com/editorialstandards

Stop breadboarding and soldering – start making immediately! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is jam-packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clip pads and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in a few minutes with the drag-and-drop MakeCode programming site, learn computer science using the CS Discoveries class on code.org, jump into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, TinyGO, or even use the Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, mini speaker, InfraRed receive and transmit, two buttons, a switch, 14 alligator clip pads, and lots of sensors: capacitive touch, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound. A whole wide world of electronics and coding is waiting for you, and it fits in the palm of your hand.

  1. could you publish the recorded sessions? I keep missing the live ones (being in europe and having no sleep schedule really doesn’t fit live tv), and the screenshots & chatlog look promising…

  2. hi pascal, we do not record these.

  3. Great job on your video talk Saturday night! You and Amanda are very good hosts, the topics were interesting and I learned a lot. You are going to have a very successful 2010 and beyond. Keep up the video broadcasts and your very creative work! Thx.

  4. Great way to start the new year, with a very informative chat.

If I had only realized 20 years ago that women hated I2C so much, I’d have stopped wearing that “I love weak pull-ups” T-shirt all the time.

  5. There’s no substitute for being there and interacting in real time (and trying to win prizes!) But if captured, these chats may one day be a historical treasure. OK, there’s a lot of information so some sifting would be needed. I wish we had such records from the early days of computers.

  6. Hello all! I uploaded the chat. You can find it here: http://vimeo.com/8546535

I also posted it on twitter – Hopefully Adabot will re-tweet it.

I’ll get it up quicker next week. (I wanted to get Adafruit’s permission before I uploaded it.)

    Enjoy!

    George Graves

  7. I’ve got a few on archive when I couldn’t be there to tune in. Especially the SparkFun one with Nate (we carry both AdaFruit & Sparkfun stuff, so I wanted to see it). Ditto, just waiting on Adabot “A-OK” to release…

  8. feel free to post them, we’ve always said that’s fine! 🙂

we just are not recording them at this time since recording does not work when you are broadcasting, ever.

  9. No worries Dave – I already uploaded it.
