That’s right – we’re finally coming full circle with the Fritzing project and are soon launching the much-wanted fabrication service that turns your Fritzing sketches into professional printed circuit boards! So in order to kick it off, we thought why not celebrate this as a fritzmas present to the community. We will produce 24 of your Arduino Shields (or other) designs you made with Fritzing. You will receive two copies for free, including free shipping. Deadline for receiving your design is December 9th. Head over to the Fritzing fab page to find out how to participate.

  1. Well, you gotta try this software to believe it. They’ve really taken a different approach.

First you build up on a breadboard using standard parts. You can roll your own if the standard part doesn’t exist. The breadboard view would be really handy when you’re trying to document quick circuit problems to the world.

Once you have a breadboard and jumpers together, a schematic is automagically generated. Ok, that’s handy. Even has an autoroute function to clean up the diagram.

But wait, the third portion is PCB layout. This tab allows you to drag components onto a PCB again, with autorouting.

Sadly the software only supports single layer at this time. May be awful tricky for more complex circuits.

Also quite sadly, the company runs out of public funding at the end of this year, and will be relying on profits from board fab and kit sales to run the business.

    Good luck to you guys!!!

  2. It was while I was using fritzing the other day that I thought – the world needs a much better breadboard.

  3. OH I can’t agree more, better breadboards are a must.
Just gotta use what i got for now.
