That’s crazy. What caused the pickup misses? Was the air compressor not set up to the correct PSI or was there a failure?
It does look like software is to blame on the speed, the vision system takes just under half the time to pick up and place a component. Hopefully there will be faster software released soon. Good luck
These look great but I’d prefer the signals to come out on different sides of the board so it can be placed in a DIP socket, this makes prototyping a lot easier since the chip doesn’t wiggle around. Take the “IMU 6DOF Razor” for example:
Congratulations on getting things running. You’ll be in love w/ the pick and place soon. I can’t imagine life without it anymore. It’s like when I first upgraded from my old ass Celeron PC to a Core2Duo. You can never go back.
MJS, hmm thats a good idea…we were actually just duplicating the Analog Devices breakout. we do need to respin this board, we’ll look into making it on 0.6″ spacing
Akiba, we still didn’t get bottom vision working for the QFN/CSP. Isono thinks that it may be a problem with the placement dot. We’ll figure it out
ladyada, I am interested in how you use fidcucials to help with the alignment for placing? Or are you not using fiducials because you are using the teach command?
we dont have auto-location because i didnt put fiducials on the board
i didnt put fiducials on the baord because i had no idea what they were for until -after- the p&p showed up
so…future PCBs will have ‘em
