  1. Could also be used to edge-light multi-touch screens that use infrared FTIR (frustrated total internal reflection)?

  2. Yes, LED tape is awesome. For the “Crystal Monster” piece I worked on recently (http://sublimina.com/work ), we used about 70 meters of RGB LED tape.
