Jeri builds a 52 inch Etch A Sketch from a HD projection TV, tent poles, golf tee and gear reduced motors. Net enabled through Monty’s Ustream chat (IRC) robot control. Hours of fascinating fun for the entire internet!
Try Adafruit's new iPhone & iPad app for makers! Circuit Playground!"Incredibly handy for anyone working in electronics. Perfect for engineers and non-engineers alike."
Jeri always makes the neatest hacks. As to her question of whether or not it’s the largest, my sources say: possibly.
There was a big etch-a-sketch thing at SIGGRAPH in 2006, but it appeared to be purely computer-driven (no mechanics at all).
Also, I found references to a large etch-a-sketch built out of 144 smaller ones bolted together, but I couldn’t find a picture or details. Something tells me Jeri’s implementation is more elegant.
Damn you!
I came here to buy something and got distracted watchin this video!
