UzeBox rox!

The UzeBox the coolest thing I’ve seen in a really really long time, a full tile-based gaming system built on a Atmega644 + AD725 (which does all the nasty colorburst stuff). Ive spent some time with the AD725 but at the time I was using an Atmega16 and didn’t get nearly as far – pretty much just colorbars :(

I’ve already ordered parts to build my own…The project is fully documented, open source hardware and firmware. Is this not the perfect kit or what?

This tetris game is probably at the very upper limit of what is possible using this core, but its really impressive considering there’s no graphics processor or video buffer!

  1. So awesome!!
Any chance of Adafruit carrying a UzeBox kit? ;)

  2. I love the hack value, but given the low cost of the parallax propeller I’m wondering why more people don’t adopt it as a graphics controller….

btw I have some NES extension cables that I’ve been storing for a rainy day (with 1 x male and 1 x female of those Krazy Konnectors).

I will dig them out and list them on eBay if there’s interest.
